Every Ingredient.
Explained.
Every ingredient in every formula earns its place. Nothing is included for marketing alone.
We work across four ingredient categories: natural, nature-derived, nature-identical, and biotech.
Nature first.
Science where it serves.
Nature is our starting point and our preference. For active ingredients especially, we go natural first: the hydrosols, the plant oils, the botanical extracts, the ancestral lipids. These are ingredients with centuries of use behind them, increasingly validated by modern science, and aligned with how skin has always interacted with the world around it.
Rooted in something real
When a natural ingredient can do the job at the concentration needed, without environmental compromise, it is always our first choice. The result is formulas rooted in something real, not assembled from a catalogue of commodity synthetics dressed up with botanical marketing.
Natural origin, refined route
Nature-derived ingredients begin from a natural source but go through a process to become usable: fermentation, cold-pressing, steam distillation. The origin is natural, the route to get there is not purely extraction.
The same molecule, made responsibly
Nature-identical ingredients are synthesised in a lab but are chemically indistinguishable from what exists in nature. Niacinamide and Panthenol are the clearest examples in our range. We choose them because extracting the equivalent from a plant would demand volumes of raw material no responsible formulator could justify. The synthetic route produces the same molecule at a fraction of the environmental cost.
Made by living systems
Biotech ingredients are produced using living biological systems: fermentation, enzymatic processes, cell culture. Sodium Hyaluronate is produced this way. It mirrors a molecule the body already makes, but there is no plant you can press or distill to get it at a meaningful scale. Fermentation is the responsible answer.
We will never choose a synthetic ingredient on cost alone. We choose it when it is the right call for the formula, for your skin, and for the planet. Every ingredient in every formula is disclosed, explained, and flagged by category so you always know exactly what you are putting on your skin and why it is there.
