MORE ON Pigmentation

Pigmentation skincare targets one underlying process: the overproduction and uneven distribution of melanin, the pigment that shows up as dark marks, sun spots and patches of uneven tone. The most effective formulas combine ingredients that act at different points in that pigment pathway, which is exactly how ours are built.

How pigmentation skincare works

Alpha-arbutin and kojic acid both inhibit tyrosinase, the key enzyme that drives melanin production, helping fade the look of existing dark marks. Tranexamic acid works differently again, interrupting the signalling between skin cells and pigment cells that triggers excess melanin in the first place. Niacinamide limits the transfer of pigment up to the surface skin cells, and N-acetyl glucosamine pairs with it to support a more even-looking tone.

Licorice root contributes glabridin, which helps calm the inflammation that can trigger pigment while adding brightness, and antioxidants such as glutathione and vitamin C support overall luminosity. Bakuchiol encourages renewal for a fresher, more even-looking surface. Layering these ingredients matters, because tackling pigment at several points in its pathway, slowing its production, interrupting its triggers and limiting its transfer to the surface, supports a more even-looking result than any single ingredient on its own. Pigment is also slow to shift, so visible change is gradual and depends on protecting the skin from the sun every single day.

Your Rare Ritual pigmentation skincare

Even-looking results over time

Because pigment is constantly reactivated by sun exposure, daily sunscreen is non-negotiable for visible progress. Paired with consistent, ingredient-led pigmentation skincare, this helps visibly reduce the appearance of dark marks for a more even-looking complexion.
